Why People Choose Direct Sells

A direct selling business is a retail organization which distributes goods and services to consumers in non-traditional environments. Direct selling is selling products directly to consumers in a non-retail environment. Instead, sales occur at home, work, online, or other non-store locations.

The primary benefit of going into the direct selling business is that it allows you to be your own boss. As an independent consultant, you must create a business plan and set goals based solely on your personal desires. Unlike starting a business from scratch, however, many direct selling organizations come with name recognition. This pre-established goodwill can go a long way in opening doors for you. Instead of spending time building a brand, you simply must sell already well-known products. There are no educational or professional prerequisites required to enter the direct selling industry, making this a great industry for students, recent college graduate, longtime stay-at-home parents and those with little or no work history. In addition, a person without a college degree or even a high school diploma will not be turned away from this type of business opportunity. Working in the direct selling business requires a person to interact with a lot of people. This aspect of the occupation makes this a wonderful way to meet and socialize with new individuals of all demographics, giving the independent consultant the opportunity to make money while making new friends. A direct selling business is a very flexible job. The nature of the occupation affords a person pursuing it the ability to work whenever they want to. Whether you want to put in traditional full-time hours or only sell products on weekends. There is good money to be made within the direct selling industry. The amount earned, however, is up to each individual. Because an independent consultant can work as many or as little hours as she chooses, the amount of money you earn is unlimited. It's not easy being in direct selling. When you want to get involved with a direct sales company, you are joining a process that does take work for you to make money. In order to do this, you need to properly get started with the direct sales.

How Many People Are Involved in Multilevel Marketing?

Some 6.8 million people were considered direct sellers in the U.S. in 2019, according to the Direct Selling Association, the national trade association for companies that market products and services directly to consumers through an independent sales force. (While many direct selling companies use an MLM model, not all do, according to the DSA.) Another 9.6 million are called "discount buyers" by the DSA. That means they are eligible to sell products through a direct sales company but are instead purchasing the products or services themselves.

When your friends and family don't support your business

When you’re excited about your new business and the new life you’re creating for yourself it’s easy to assume that your friends and loved ones will be happy for you and supportive.

But what if they’re not? Sometimes the reality is very different. A lot of the time it’s different, it’s common for people and it can start to hold you back. It can make you feel ‘wrong’ in some way and question what you’re doing.

Sometimes They Just Don’t Understand

Most of the friends I’ve had for years barely ask me a thing…..pretty much never! They don’t read my content or interact in my group. Unless it’s something they’re interested in. It doesn’t mean those people love me any less than the others. Which is totally fine and you can’t take it personally. You need to pick and choose who you listen to and ask yourself if their opinion is truly as valid as you’re making it. Do they know what they’re talking about or are they coming from a place of ‘jobs are safer’ because it’s what they know? OR are they just those types that like to belittle everyone....OR both....Is it toxic or from a good place?

Some reasons they may not support you

*They don't have the money.

*You've been involved over and over with all sorts of direct selling companies...

*They don't want your product.

Remember to always do thorough research before getting involved with a MLM (direct selling company). Just like you would with any other business. Unfortunately, not all are created equal...

-Eleanor Roosevelt
